City commences with road resurfacing in Pinelands
09 May 2025
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate advises the public of intended roadworks along Alices Ride Street, Nightingale Way, Forest Drive Service Road, Bonteheuwel Road, Eland Way, Ringwood Drive, Dagbreek Street, Avonduur Street and La Gratitude Road (parking lot) in Pinelands. The work is planned to take place until Saturday 18 June 2025 between 09:00 and 15:30, Monday to Saturday.
This project forms part of regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of the city’s road network. Residents and business owners can expect some noise during this time.
The work involves the resurfacing of these roads, as well as various other repair works to broken kerbs and channels and the replacement of these where necessary. The raising of manholes to new levels will be done where required and new road markings will be applied to improve safety and visibility on these roads.
'To facilitate this work in Pinelands, partial lane closures have been implemented from 7 May and will be in place until 18 June 2025. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes to minimise delays. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all road users as we undertake this project to improve the road network and keep Cape Town moving,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
